Evans remarked on the beauty of Downtown El Paso – with the Mills Building casting angular shadows in the setting sun, it truly was beautiful – and then waxed philosophic about “subverting centers of power by setting up autonomous zones of pure fun.”
The comment came off as archly cerebral, but it was spot-on. YACHT’s music is full of lyrics about the grandeur of life and the importance of striving to be better; hearing their numinous lyrics set to pelvis-animating beats in the downtown sunset was probably the day’s highlight.
The YACHT Trust is a loose organization of people committed to furthering and administering the tenets of the YACHT Mission. They are like the Knights Templar of YACHT; valiant in form and deed, but separate from the band itself.
